The fencing team defeated Bayonne High School 23-4, January 13.

The team had a stellar outing with nine Gray Bees finishing undefeated.

“Bayonne is filled with very young guys and we were happy to have them here,” Head Coach Rich Molina ‘06 said.

This meet was a confidence booster for the fencing team because their focus is on the state tournament, January 14.

“I felt confident because we beat them before,” UDII Liam Reilly said. “At the same time we felt nervous because of the state tournament we are having tomorrow”

Despite being nervous, the team was able to improve on their 4-2 record, making this win their fourth straight.

Update: The fencing team traveled to Drew University to compete in the Cetrulo Tournament, January 14. This tournament is filled with the best teams in the region. The Gray Bees finished 6th overall.
