SBP’s Varsity Soccer Team currently holds a 55-game unbeaten streak, one it has earned since its 2017 season. This young Benedict’s team is trying to go undefeated and claim an unprecedented third national championship. The Varsity Gray Bees team has spent some significant time out on the road this season, including trips to Philadelphia, Ohio, and Maryland.

With team members at home last weekend, Team Captain Zemi Rodriguez UDII interviewed a few players for The Benedict News, including: Lui Chaves SY, a midfielder who is a captain; his twin brother, Cao Chaves SY, a left back who is also a captain; Rhys Armstrong UDII, a midfielder; and Thiago Quintanhila SY, a forward. They talked about where they are from and how they got to Benedict’s. They also discussed how they maintain the mental strength needed to sustain them throughout the season in order to allow them to accomplish the goal set at the beginning of the season. Zemi Rodriguez is from Goshen, N.Y.. The Chaves brothers and Quintanhila hail from Brazil. Armstrong is from Scotland.
